HANDS OF HUMANITY

"Hand" is a word that means a lot more than what we know. It shows us diversity and tolerance where you have many different fingers with different sizes and shapes working together everyday to get tasks done. Those fingers symbolize unity and respect to other fingers and to the "mother hand". This example makes us learn how to accept other people living around. Instead of fighting for each one's self interest, we should work with each other and cooperates to make life easier and more peaceful for us and our children in the future. No matter what differences there are between us, whether it's religion, color, nationality, age, gender, or any other difference, we can work things out every time we have a problem. People tend to be offensive when their interests are violated. This is why we have fights allover the world as well as wars that end up killing people for nothing. People fight to realize then that there's no solution but to accept others and find half way solutions with them. Nobody can eliminate or erase a group from the planet. God created Earth with different kinds of people so they can all live together not kill each other until only few survive. All religions all over the world forbid war and killing. The three major dominant religions, Jewish, Christianity, and Islam, say clearly that hell is the only reward for the crime of killing an innocent soul. Therefore, we need to communicate better with each other and try to keep differences aside in our every day life. When you are good to people, it will reflect on you so everyone will like you and will respect you. In conclusion, do unto others what you like to be done unto you.

Diversity, a key component in every society, has been present in old and new civilizations irrespective to the amount of effort put by humans to destabilize this unwelcome element. Blacks, Jews, Native Americans, Latinos, and recently Muslims are all facing a special and racist treatment depending on their race, for example skin color, or even religion. However, diversity leads to destruction of the human race and eventually life.

Diversity is a virus in the human body. It must be healed correctly and with caution to destroy it. Referring to Oscar Wilde’s novel, “The Portrait of Dorian Gray,” which talks about a young man, who sees nothing important except outer beauty, thus believing that being handsome gives a felling of immortality, and that leads to his destruction after discriminating between the beautiful and the ugly. Also, diversity can lead to the deaths of millions of people worldwide such as World War 1, which was based on Hitler’s hate for the Jews.  Not only Jews were killed! Arabs, Americans, Japanese, Australian, Europeans, and many more... and no one can forget Palestine being given to the Jews for sympathy of their loses!  Many paid the price of one man’s hate, and in the end, to run away from the consequences of the war and his misery, Hitter simply shot himself leaving millions of people dead, homeless, crippled, widowed, and poor allowing them to suffer for his mistakes.

Unity leads to development, freedom, improvement, and harmony. It is not a lie that unity spreads liberty and sovereignty such is the case with South Africa’s struggle for equality between the black and white. After the invasion of the Europeans of South Africa, the whites began to think of their superiority over the native South Africans, thus preventing them from caring out their rights, for example, creating separate buses for whites and others for black. It also went to the extent that Blacks were not allowed to become presidents. After Mandela’s imprisonment, foreign countries created a boycott with the Blacks in South Africa, thus damaging the whites’ economy and financial system leading to the spread of equality between the two races to create an enriched newly-developing country full of hope and optimistic expectations for the future. And so the white and black don’t need to ride separate buses anymore!

Finally, the slogan “United upon Diversity” best describes my project. With unity comes enhancement and improvement. Without it drags the worst war ever know by mankind. If a canvas can join people of different races and ages, so can real life! Although differences between every race exist, similarities exist too. Therefore these differences must be put aside since we are all humans where no one is superior to the other.

Unity is when the people of the World unite together and makes peace with each other and the world. It is when racism is not there anymore, haters disappear, and love surrounds everyone everywhere. If we unite we will voguish wars to make a better life for everyone and we will open our hearts to everyone no matter what his skin color is or his religion, or the kind of culture that he has. Why hate, when we could love. Why fight, when we could compromise. Why differentiate between skin, religion, and culture when we are all the same. We are all human beings, and we are all made up of flesh and blood like everyone else on this planet. No one is better than the other by hating and being a racist.. That's what Unity is. But it's just that we all look different from the outside. Each comes from a different family, and a different country. Each one of us speaks a different language, has different ideas, and has different opinions. But he or she shouldn't be treated differently. Diversity is when we look different from the others, when we speak different languages, when we have different religions and cultures, when we think differently and have different opinions but all opinions should be respected and heard, and thought of no matter what. Even though sometimes some opinions are wrong and bad but they should be heard like any other human being's opinion. When you look at a friend you see that he looks different then you do, talks differently, has a different opinion then yours, believes in different things, but when you chose him to be your mend you saw something common between you and him, that was the reason that attracted you to him , so if you get to know more people and get introduced to more people you may see that no matter where you are from, or how you talk or what you believe in you must have something in common.

Let's talk

It's not a secret that we were all created differently with different attitudes, personalities and different looks, but what makes us really different is our attitude towards the challenges that we each face. A great man once said that our diversity is a collective strength and no matter how different we are, yet we can all unite and come together. This is what my drawing shows. In my drawing, I expressed the differences between men and women by drawing a man on a side and a woman on another. I also expressed the differences between races and cultures. The background reflects the differences between social classes. We all come from different backgrounds, yet in my drawing people have managed to overcome their differences and unite. In my drawing men and women unite and races come together because I think that it's important to overlook our differences and focus on the few things that we have in common, for we are strong as individuals but united we are invincible.

Unity and Diversity

Unity and diversity are two words, but which have two different meanings. I liked to talk in this essay about unity and diversity in our life.

Unity is when all people around the world unite together to form a strength. Through unity these people can fight any problem they might face together, so they should forget all their diversities together. In my drawing I drew people who are united by a rope. I represented in my drawing the rope as the relation which is connecting the people all together so they can unite. The relation in my drawing is that they live all together on the same planet which is Earth.

However, diversity is when a group of people have things different from one to another. People could be different by their skin color, religion, culture, nation etc- - - In my drawing I showed diversity by drawing people who are wearing different type of clothes, culture, skin color - - -

I wish you have the same thoughts, and ideas I had, when you looked at my drawing about unity and diversity, and relating the people and world's map with the idea.
